Shift Details
-- Night shift, 3pm-1am
-- Weekend coverage may be part of the schedule
Requirements
-- ANCC Certified
-- Active California license
-- California DEA
-- ACLS
-- ATLS
-- BLS
-- Trauma/Critical Care experience
-- Must be actively working at a TJC-accredited hospital
-- Clean malpractice/background - Highly preferred
-- Local candidate, no flights - Highly preferred
Required Procedures / Skills
-- Local anesthesia
-- Laceration repair
-- Dressing changes
-- Drain removal
-- Suture removal
-- Debridement and closure of wounds: Skin and subcutaneous
-- Debridement of wounds: Superficial
-- Basic management of non-displaced fractures
-- Removal of superficial foreign bodies
-- Provide hemostasis
-- Insert and remove packing
-- Incision and drainage
-- Cervical spine clearance
-- Chest tube removal
-- Burn management, partial thickness less than 10%
-- Laceration repair: Intermediate
-- Arterial line insertion
-- Fracture reductions with minimal or moderate displacement
-- Reduction of simple dislocations
-- Central line insertion
-- Chest tube insertion
Assignment Details
-- Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
-- EMR: Cerner Care B
-- Support staff: One other Trauma NP/PA works day shift (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
-- Average daily trauma service census: 20 to 25 patients
-- Few to zero pediatric patients on service
-- Supporting one trauma surgeon on call
-- Responsible for monitoring, managing, and discharging all patients on the trauma service
-- Surgical assist is not part of the role
-- Facility requires two Trauma APPs for this opportunity
