Job Description

Our nurse practitioners and physician assistants provide high-quality inpatient care in collaboration with the hospitalist physician team. This swing-shift role supports patient admissions, acute clinical needs, cross-coverage, and care coordination between day and night teams. The advance practice clinician ensures safe, timely, and patient-centered care while adhering to hospital policies and clinical best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for new admissions and existing inpatients
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in coordination with the supervising hospitalist
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECGs, etc.) based on scope of practice
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Provide cross-coverage for inpatient units, addressing changes in patient status, medication adjustments, and care coordination
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Qualifications
  • Master?s degree from an accredited NP or PA program
  • Current state licensure as NP or PA
  • National certification (ACNP, FNP, AGACNP, PA-C, etc., depending on organization requirements).
  • Active DEA license (or eligibility)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Preferred: 1?2 years of experience in inpatient medicine, emergency medicine, or critical care.
  • New graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered depending on hospital needs.
