This health system operates a Neuroscience ICU service utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with neurological disorders. The facility maintains a clinical team with expertise in nursing, radiology, general neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery and intervention, neuro-spine surgery, and neurology. The facility operates a 20-bed unit with an average total inpatient census of 20 and an average of 2 admissions per day.

About the Clinician's WorkdayThe physician associate will provide inpatient-only neurocritical care coverage on 12-hour shifts, with day shifts running 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and night shifts running 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM beginning January 2027. The clinician must be acute care certified, capable of ICU-level care, and will be expected to respond to codes; no ER backup and no call are required outside the worked shift. Clinical documentation is completed using the EPIC EMR system, and required procedures include arterial lines, central lines, lumbar punctures, and ventilator management. ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association are required, and a minimum of one year of relevant experience is expected.
