Job Description

An 8-hospital regional health system in Fayetteville, North Carolina, serving more than one million patients annually, is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Trauma Service. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a high-volume, patient-centered team committed to delivering outstanding orthopedic trauma care to our community.


Position Overview

This inpatient-focused role is integral to the daily operations of our Orthopedic Trauma program. The PA will manage consults, coordinate care, and provide comprehensive inpatient management for orthopedic trauma patients. The position offers a high level of clinical autonomy, direct leadership involvement, and daily collaboration with two experienced Orthopedic Trauma Surgeons in a supportive and team-oriented environment.


Schedule & Call

  • Monday-Friday, daytime schedule
  • Four (4) call nights per month
  • Inpatient-only position

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient orthopedic trauma evaluations and consultations
  • Manage daily patient care, documentation, and follow-up
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic trauma surgeons to optimize patient outcomes
  • Coordinate care with nursing, case management, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Serve in a leadership-oriented role within the service line, with meaningful autonomy and clinical decision-making support

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physician Assistant in North Carolina (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Prior experience in Orthopedics, Trauma, Acute Care, or a related specialty preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced inpatient setting
