Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Locums Job in Washington | M–F + Weekend Call | Beginning ASAP – Ongoing | Assignment #113197

Coverage Details
-- Beginning ASAP pending credentialing
-- Credentialing timeframe: 90 days

Shift Description
-- Monday–Friday, primarily 7AM–3PM (not shift work; some days may extend longer)
-- 3–4 weekday call shifts per week
-- 1:4 weekend call rotation
-- Call every 6th night and every 6th weekend
-- Weekday call: 24-hour pager; typically 10–12+ hours onsite
-- Weekend call: typically 6–8+ hours depending on census

Requirements
-- Board Certification
-- Washington license highly preferred (IMLC considered)
-- Minimum 3 years CV/CT surgery experience
-- ACLS, BLS, DEA
-- Clean malpractice history

Responsibilities
-- Must be able to perform robotic-assisted thoracic surgeries (90% of thoracic cases are robotics)
-- OR first assist
-- Coronary artery bypass and all valve surgeries
-- Aortic reconstruction and aortic arch reconstruction
-- Endoscopic vein harvest
-- Open radial artery harvest
-- Minimally invasive valves
-- VATS and DaVinci robotic thoracic procedures
-- Thoracic and foregut procedures
-- ICU & step-down management
-- Emergent floor procedures as required (e.g., chest tube placements, arterial line insertions)
-- Daily rounds
-- Discharge summaries
-- Pre- and post-op patients (inpatient and outpatient)
-- Walk-in/urgent clinic visits when primary surgeon is unavailable
-- Clinic wound checks as needed

Assignment Details
-- Case volumes: 6–8 hearts/week; 9–12 thoracic/week
-- Patient volume: ~20 adult patients/day
-- Team: 5 surgeons (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic) + 4 mid-levels (3 PA, 1 NP, 1 in training)
-- EMR: EPIC
