This facility operates as a Level II Trauma Center providing inpatient cardiothoracic surgical services. The hospital maintains established protocols and modern surgical infrastructure to support quality patient care across the cardiothoracic surgery service line. Clinical operations are structured to ensure continuity of care for both surgical and postoperative patients.

California offers a range of outdoor and recreational activities for clinicians on assignment throughout the state. The region features wilderness parks, regional parks, biking trails, and breweries, along with guided tours, water activities, and wildlife experiences along the coastline. Theme park attractions, studio tours, and diverse shopping and dining destinations round out the options available in the area.

The nurse practitioner will assist with cardiothoracic surgery cases, including approximately 10-11 heart surgeries per month as well as additional thoracic cases. Daily morning rounds are conducted, with the clinician writing postoperative notes on patients - a duty that is at times shared with the attending surgeons. The facility maintains a census of fewer than 10 inpatients at a time. Follow-up clinic is held Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the hospital, with up to 6 patients seen per session; occasional urgent follow-ups may be scheduled outside of standard clinic days. Weekend call coverage is required for this assignment.
