Job Description

A respected, well-established multispecialty medical group is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its Pulmonary & Critical Care team. This is a dynamic role that offers a blend of outpatient and inpatient care, strong collegial support, and access to advanced pulmonary services in a modern clinical environment.


Position Overview

This PA role combines both clinic-based and hospital responsibilities, providing variety within a structured and supportive schedule. You will rotate weekly between outpatient care and inpatient pulmonary consult rounding alongside two experienced APP colleagues.


The pulmonary program is robust and continues to grow, offering exposure to a wide range of conditions and services, including:

  • Lung cancer screening program
  • On-site Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) lab
  • COPD and lung nodule specialty clinics
  • Advanced pulmonary procedures performed by physicians
  • A 12-bed ICU managed by the pulmonary team (no direct ICU patient care required for this role)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • No nights or weekends
  • Weekly rotation between outpatient clinic and hospital consult service

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide comprehensive pulmonary care across both outpatient and inpatient settings. Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and managing common pulmonary conditions
  • Conducting outpatient visits and follow-up care
  • Performing inpatient pulmonary consult rounds
  • Collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Supporting initiatives aimed at improving patient experience, optimizing length of stay, and reducing readmissions
  • Modern EMR systems (eClinicalWorks outpatient, Epic inpatient)

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Physician Assistant in Massachusetts or in process
  • NCCPA Certification
  • Active DEA registration and MA controlled substances license
  • Experience in pulmonary or related specialty preferred, but not required
