Job Description
Under immediate supervision of the Health Center Manager, the Medical Assistant (MA) / License Practical Nurse (LPN) performs routine clinic duties associated with a reproductive health program within the scope of their clinical training and toolkit. Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses are responsible for providing the highest level of customer service and patient care as well as supporting the operations of the health center. Some of the responsibilities include conducting patient history review, performing & processing labs, providing contraceptive supplies, and unbiased education. They will also help with inventory and assist our Clinicians when needed. Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses are advocates in implementing our mission “To affirm the right to reproductive health and freedom for all by providing excellent care, trusted education, and fierce advocacy.” They may perform other related duties to support health center.
Minimum Qualifications:
- AND (if Medical Assistant):
- Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program, Associate degree in Medical Assisting, equivalent military experience, or past EMT/Paramedic licensure.
- OR (if LPN):
- Current active, unencumbered LPN license in Iowa.
- OR (if RN)
- Current active, unencumbered RN license in Iowa..
