Job Description
(Login for Information) has an acute care nocturnist nurse practitioner-only opening within the hospitalist team at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Join our established program working in one of the cities only Level 2 Trauma facilities. NPs enjoy a busy and dynamic working environment, while working a traditional 7-on/7-off schedule.
Del Sol Medical Center has 350 beds with 166-floor beds, and we operate with 5 to 6 daytime physicians with 1 nocturnist physician and APC at night (7p to 7a). Currently, we are averaging 107 total patient encounters during the day shift and roughly 15 to 20 admissions at night with the assistance of 1 to 2 IM residents.
This facility has a closed ICU with a fully staffed Intensivist team, so procedures are not required by our physicians or APCs. Our APCs will assist in cross-coverage, receiving calls on around 30-35% of the patients as well as assisting with admissions. Del Sol Medical Center has an internal medicine GME program with 1st, 2nd and 3rd year residents working alongside our physicians in the hospital. There is full specialty support in place and Meditech is the current EMR as this is an HCA facility.
