Neuro Trauma/Critical Care PA Locums Job in California | Day Shift | May 14 – May 15 | Assignment #114848

Coverage Details
-- May 14 – May 15
-- 10-hour day shifts, 7 AM – 5 PM
-- No call
-- Credentialing timeframe: 30–60 days from receipt of fully completed application

Requirements
-- Current ANCC or AANP certification (NP) or NCCPA certification (PA)
-- Active California state license
-- ACLS
-- ATLS
-- DEA
-- Minimum of 1 year of neurosurgery, neurocritical care, or neurology experience
-- Clean malpractice history

Required Procedures/Skills
-- Laceration repair
-- IV access / peripheral IV insertion
-- Fracture and dislocation reductions (minimal to moderate displacement)
-- G-tube placement
-- Endotracheal intubation
-- Cardioversion / defibrillation
-- LMA placement
-- Paracentesis
-- Chest tube placement
-- Central line placement
-- Arterial line placement

Assignment Details
-- Level II Trauma Center
-- Average ICU census per provider: 15–20 patients per day
-- Setting includes neurosurgery and trauma ICU management for brain, neck, and spine surgery patients
-- Duties include rounding on all neurosurgery service patients, coordinating care with the neurosurgeon on call, writing orders and notes, removing drains, evaluating new consults, and communicating with families and multidisciplinary teams
-- Locum APPs on the neuro-trauma service do not assist in surgery
-- Reason for coverage: Gaps in coverage
-- EMR: Cerner Care B
