About the Role
As a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, you will work closely with a dedicated team of NPs, MDs, DOs, PAs, nurses, medical assistants, and multidisciplinary professionals committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. Cultural competence is essential, as you will support patients and colleagues from a wide range of racial, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.

Your Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care, including diagnosing and treating illness, prescribing medications, offering preventive care guidance, and addressing the psychological impacts of illness.
- Appropriately refer patients to specialty services and ensure timely follow-up on results.
- Participate in co-managing a patient panel with a team-based NP or PA.
- Contribute to training activities for students and clinical learners.
- Ensure continuity of care across referrals, specialty clinics, emergency departments, and hospital services.
- Engage in staff meetings, quality assurance efforts, and medical audit activities.
- Participate in paid 24-hour on-call coverage for one week at a time, approximately 1?2 times per quarter.
- Work one weekly evening session (until 7 PM); occasional Saturdays may be required based on staffing needs.
Schedule & Workload
- Full-time: 40 hours/week
- 32 patient-facing hours
- 8 administrative hours (flexibly scheduled; many providers use one remote day)
- Flexible scheduling options:
- 5x8-hour days or
- Fewer, longer days (e.g., 4x10s), as long as one weekly evening session is included
- Patient volume: ~10-12 patients per 4-hour session (~20 per 8-hour day)
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of primary care experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Nurse Practitioner program or certified Nurse Practitioner program.
- Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Experience with EMR systems required; Epic familiarity preferred.
