- Job Details:
- 7 on / 7 off schedule
- Schedule: Preferred 1 week on / 1 week off ongoing; open to candidates who are only available on weekends.
- Shifts & Call: Weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with night call from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekend call is 24 hours (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.) with hospital rounding approximately 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Physicians handle overnight calls.
- Clinical Duties: Inpatient role with solo APP coverage. Responsibilities include first assisting in the OR, rounding on patients, and covering emergency surgical cases as needed.
- Surgical Volume: Approximately 1-2 surgical cases per weekday. Procedures include CABG, AVR, TAVR, thoracic and aortic surgeries. Endoscopic vein harvesting experience is required. Over 60 pump cases completed so far in 2025.
- Team Structure: Typically 3-4 APPs on service at a time, including 2 floor APPs and 2 surgical APPs. Weekend and emergency call responsibilities are shared in a rotating schedule.
- Client Requirements: ACLS, BLS, CPR, DEA, and board certification required. At least one year of experience preferred, but strong new grads may be considered. Candidates without a Pennsylvania license may still apply.
- EMR: Uses Cerner and EPIC for electronic medical records. APPs work independently with minimal floor patient volume outside of surgical responsibilities.
- Delta Locum Tenens can assist with travel arrangements and credentialing, and will cover malpractice.
