This Level 3 trauma center operates as a comprehensive 495-bed facility providing advanced emergency medical services to the regional patient population. The facility maintains modern emergency medical equipment and established clinical protocols to support quality emergency care delivery. Appropriate staffing levels are in place to ensure optimal patient outcomes across all assigned shifts.

Virginia offers a range of historical and cultural attractions suited to varied interests, including Colonial Williamsburg, the Yorktown Museum and Battlefields, and Luray Caverns. The region also features wineries and vineyards, evening tours, and waterfront experiences through City Cruises in Norfolk. Autumn brings comfortable temperatures, making outdoor exploration of the region's landmarks and landscapes a practical option for clinicians on assignment.

The nurse practitioner will provide emergency medicine coverage during day and call shifts, working 12-hour schedules including 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a, and 7p-7a. The clinician will utilize cross-credentialing capabilities to support comprehensive patient care delivery within the emergency department. The position requires board certification and involves evaluating and managing diverse emergency presentations while maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Care coordination with emergency department teams within a Level 3 trauma center environment is an essential component of this role.
