PA or NP  sought for Emergency Medicine position located in Olympia area

 

Hospital seeking experienced PA or NP to join Emergency Medicine department.  The hospital’s 24-hour emergency services include a full service laboratory and diagnostic imaging department.  The Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week by an ED Physician. This hospital is unique due to their size and accessibility and takes pride in their low emergency department wait times and their ability to give patients quick access to a doctor. They have the ability to stabilize and provide advanced trauma life support to critically injured patients prior to transferring them to a higher level trauma center by ambulance or helicopter. Stopping at Summit Pacific for stabilization has been instrumental in saving the lives of heart attack and stroke victims and those with traumatic injuries.

 

Position provides Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner t services to the District in outpatient clinical care areas as assigned, to include the Emergency Department, or any District outpatient clinics. Works collaboratively with patients and other members of the care team to maintain a patient-centered approach to care that supports positive patient experiences while ensuring delivery of evidence-based, quality.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

*Provide services to the District as an ED APP. Perform emergency medicine services and Primary Care Clinics as primary care provider. Provide first contact, comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults according to current standards of care and the patient centered medical home model. Engage in consultations with other ED physician and other specialists.

*Actively assist and participate in ongoing quality improvement and risk management programs with respect to emergency medicine services. Work to develop and implement policies affecting the provision of Practitioner Services in coordination with District administration. Continually develop and promote standards and quality control of Practitioner Services through (1) participation in all ordinary and special medical record audits for quality of care, completeness, timeliness, and medical/legal considerations, (2) review of, response to and management of problems and complaints as related to providing Practitioner Services, (3) participation in the development of a policies and procedures manual, follow-up instructions, protocols, and record retrieval systems, and (4) preparation for and participation in regulatory reviews and accreditation surveys.

This practice  is centrally located between the state capitol Olympia, WA and the Cities of Montesano and Aberdeen. It is also only 80 miles from Seattle and Ocean Shores. Forests, mountains, lakes and rivers, open spaces, no traffic, its a great place to live.
